Component
POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM)
Manufacturer
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC)
What Happened
The powertrain control module in your Ram 2500 is the computer that helps your transmission and engine work together. In some 2023-2026 models, a software glitch can cause the computer to misread your vehicle's speed, letting it exceed its tire's safe speed limit.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, you could lose control of your vehicle, especially if you're traveling at high speeds or on slippery roads. This is a serious safety risk, as it could lead to a crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized Ram dealer will update the powertrain control module software to fix the issue, and it will be done at no cost to you. Just schedule an appointment when you get your recall notice and let the dealer take care of it.
