What Happened
There's a potential problem with the fuel return line hose fitting on your vehicle's fuel pump. It might not be properly molded, which could cause a leak.
Risk if Unfixed
If the hose breaks, you could have a leak that could catch fire if there's an ignition source nearby, which could be very serious.
Free Fix
The dealership will replace your fuel pump completely, free of charge, and you should contact Mitsubishi at 1-800-222-0037 to schedule the repair.

ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE FUEL RETURN LINE HOSE FITTING ON THE ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP MAY BE IMPROPERLY MOLDED.

BREAKAGE COULD RESULT IN A LEAKAGE OF FUEL AND IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, IT COULD RESULT A FIRE.

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 26, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT MITSUBISHI AT 1-800-222-0037.
