AIR BAGS

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The air bag initiators in your vehicle are small components that help deploy your seat-mounted air bags in the event of a crash. In some 2016-2017 BMW models, these initiators might not work as they should.
Risk if Unfixed
If an air bag initiator fails, the air bag won't deploy, which could leave you at risk of serious injury in a crash. This is a critical safety issue that requires immediate attention.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty air bag modules with new ones, completely free of charge. You'll be notified when it's time for the repair, and you should schedule it as soon as possible.
