Component

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK/TRACTION CONTROL/ELECTRONIC LIMITED SLIP:CONTROL UNIT/MODULE

Manufacturer
Kia America, Inc.
What Happened
The Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) in your vehicle is a critical safety system that helps control your brakes. It's like a computer that monitors and controls your brake system. In some 2010-2019 Kia models, this computer can experience an electrical short, causing a fire in the engine compartment while you're driving or parked.
Risk if Unfixed
If the HECU fails, it could cause a fire in the engine compartment while you're driving or parked. This increases the risk of serious injury, including burns, smoke inhalation, or other harm.
Free Fix
Your Kia dealer will replace the HECU fuse at no cost to you. This will ensure your vehicle's brake system is safe and reliable. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible to avoid any risk of a fire.
