What Happened
Chrysler is recalling your 2012 Jeep Patriot or Compass because of a faulty fuel transfer tube that might cause your engine to stall while driving.
Risk if Unfixed
If your engine stalls while driving, it could lead to a crash, which could put you and others at risk.
Free Fix
Chrysler will replace the faulty fuel transfer tube for free at a dealership when you schedule an appointment, and they've already mailed you a notice with more information.

Original — What Happened
Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2012 Jeep Patriot and Compass vehicles manufactured October 18, 2011, through May 7, 2012. Due to an incorrectly manufactured transfer tube, the transfer of fuel from the secondary side to the primary side of the fuel tank may be interrupted, causing the engine to stall.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
If the engine stalls while driving it may increase the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel tank transfer tube free of charge. An interim letter was mailed to owners on May 30, 2013. Owners were notified by Chrysler on July 19, 2013, that parts are now available. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's recall campaign number is N17.

What Happened
Your Jeep Patriot or Compass may have a damaged fuel tank assembly that could cause a fuel leak in the event of an impact or roll-over.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, you could be at risk of a fire, which could be very serious.
Free Fix
Don't worry, this is free! The dealership will replace your fuel tank assembly for you, starting on or about May 25, 2012. You'll be contacted by Chrysler directly.

CHRYSLER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2012 JEEP PATRIOT AND COMPASS VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM DECEMBER 17, 2011, THROUGH JANUARY 2, 2012. SOME VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH A FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY CONTAINING A DAMAGED ROLL-OVER VALVE.
