Original — What Happened
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain air bag inflator replacement service parts that may have been installed as part of a theft or collision repair. The parts include certain passenger-side air bag inflators designed to fit Infiniti 2002-2003 QX4, 2006-2010 M35 and M45; Nissan 2001-2003 Maxima, 2002-2006 Sentra, and both driver and passenger-side inflators designed to fit 2007-2012 Versa Sedan and Versa Hatchback vehicles. Please see Nissan's recall report for the specific part numbers. These replacement inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2001-2003 Maxima, 2002-2006 Sentra, 2002-2004 Pathfinder, 2007-2011 Versa Sedan and Versa Hatchback, 2001-2004 Infiniti I30 and I35, 2002-2003 Inifiniti QX4, 2003-2008 Infiniti FX35 and FX45 and 2006-2010 M35 and M45 vehicles. The vehicles are equipped with non-desiccated, frontal passenger air bag inflators containing phase stabilized ammonium nitrate (PSAN) propellant that were used as interim remedy parts for previous Takata recalls. These inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.

TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS

What Happened
The tire pressure monitoring system in your vehicle uses a sensor to track air pressure in your tires. This sensor is held in place by a nut that might corrode and come loose in areas with lots of road salt.
Risk if Unfixed
If the nut comes loose, the TPMS light will turn on, but if you ignore it, your tire will slowly lose air and eventually go flat. This increases the risk of a crash, especially on the road.
Free Fix
Your Nissan dealer will replace the old nut with a new, more durable one – at no cost to you. This service will be done for free, and you should schedule it by November 9, 2009, or as soon as you get the recall notice.

What Happened
The accelerator pedal sensor in your Infiniti M35 or M45 is like a messenger that tells your engine how fast you're pressing the gas pedal. Over time, this sensor can send the wrong message, causing your engine to go into a safety mode.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, your engine may stall when you're stopping or idling, which could cause a crash.
Free Fix
Your Infiniti dealer will replace the accelerator pedal and reprogram your engine computer, all for free. You'll receive a notification and should schedule the repair as soon as possible.

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2006-2010 Infiniti M35 and M45 vehicles manufactured April 4, 2004, through October 5, 2010. Over time, the accelerator pedal sensor signal may deteriorate resulting in the output of an incorrect signal causing the engine to go into fail-safe (limp home) mode.

In this fail-safe mode, throttle valve deposits may cause the engine to stall when the vehicle is coming to a stop or at idle, increasing the risk of a crash.
