What Happened
The Remote Smart Parking Assist system in your Nexo or Sonata is designed to prevent the car from moving if there's a problem. But in some 2020 models, the software controlling this system could malfunction and let the vehicle move unexpectedly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the RSPA system fails, your vehicle could roll away unexpectedly, which could lead to a crash and put you and others at risk.
Free Fix
Your Hyundai dealer will update the RSPA software to ensure it works correctly, and this repair is free for you. You should schedule the update as soon as you receive the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2020 Nexo and Sonata vehicles. The Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA) software may fail to prevent vehicle movement upon detection of an RSPA system malfunction.

Unintended vehicle movement increases the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the RSPA software, free of charge. The recall began June 3, 2020. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 191.
