What Happened
The front passenger seat weight sensor in your vehicle is a critical safety device that helps the airbag deploy in a crash. Unfortunately, this sensor can crack and fail in certain 2017-2022 models, including your vehicle.
Risk if Unfixed
If the sensor fails, the airbags could deploy unexpectedly during a crash, which could lead to serious injury.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the faulty sensor with a new one at no cost to you. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.

The front passenger seat weight sensor may crack and short circuit, which can cause the air bags to deploy unintentionally during a crash.

Dealers will replace the seat weight sensors, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 6, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are BOL, WO9, OOA, WOM, XOH, NOC, POD, BOE, UOF, POB, EOG, AOI, QO8, TOJ, DO7, and SOK. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 24V064. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning May 29, 2026.

What Happened
The rearview camera on your Fit or HR-V is the feature that shows you what's behind your vehicle when you're in reverse. In some models, the image might not appear when you start the engine with a key.
Risk if Unfixed
If the rearview camera display doesn't work, you'll have reduced visibility of what's behind your vehicle, which could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Honda dealer will update the display software for free, so you can see the rearview camera image when you start the engine. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice, and if you've already had a previous repair, you'll need to have this new fix done too.

Honda (America Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Fit and 2019-2022 HR-V vehicles that were previously recalled under NHTSA recall number 23V-046. The rearview camera image may not display when the engine is started with a key, due to a design error in the audio display power circuit. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
