What Happened
Your vehicle's driver's air bag inflator might have a manufacturing defect that could cause it to explode if deployed, which is why GM is recalling certain Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia models.
Risk if Unfixed
If the inflator explodes, it could send sharp metal pieces hurtling towards you or your passengers, potentially causing serious injury or even death.
Free Fix
You can get your driver's air bag module replaced for free at a dealership, and GM will notify you by mail starting in February 2024 with completion by December 2025.

Original — What Happened
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia vehicles. The driver's air bag inflator may explode during deployment, due to a manufacturing defect.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will replace the driver's air bag module, free of charge. GM began mailing final owner letters February 23, 2024 and will continue mailing through December 2025. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N232404980.

What Happened
The side curtain air bags in your Buick Enclave or Chevrolet Traverse are designed to protect you and your passengers in the event of a rollover. However, in certain models, the fasteners that keep these air bags in place might not be secure.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bags aren't attached properly, they might not inflate correctly in a rollover, leaving you and your loved ones more vulnerable to injury.
Free Fix
Your dealer will inspect the air bag attachment and make any necessary adjustments or replacements, all at no cost to you. You should get this done as soon as you receive the recall notice to ensure your safety on the road.
