What Happened
The driver's air bag in your Enclave, Traverse, or Acadia is the safety device that deploys to protect you in a frontal collision. Unfortunately, some of these air bags have faulty inflators that could rupture during deployment.
Risk if Unfixed
If the inflator explodes, sharp metal fragments could fly towards you and the other occupants, causing severe injury or even death.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the faulty air bag module with a safe one, completely free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice and let the dealer handle it.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia vehicles. The driver's air bag inflator may explode during deployment, due to a manufacturing defect.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will replace the driver's air bag module, free of charge. GM began mailing final owner letters February 23, 2024 and will continue mailing through December 2025. Free Fix
A free replacement of the driver's air bag module will be performed by a dealership, and you've already been notified by mail with a letter dated February 23, 2023.

What Happened
The side curtain air bag system in your vehicle is designed to protect you in the event of a side impact. In some 2010-2015, 2017 Buick Enclave, 2010-2019 Chevrolet Traverse, and 2011-2016 GMC Acadia models, the air bags might not be securely attached to the vehicle.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bags aren't properly attached, they might not deploy as intended in a side impact collision. This could put you at risk of more serious injuries.
Free Fix
Your dealer will inspect the air bag system, and if necessary, realign or replace the weld nuts to ensure your air bags are secure and ready to protect you. This repair is free of charge.

Your vehicle may have Goodyear P255/65R18 Fortera HL tires that could crack, which is a safety issue.
Risk if Unfixed
If the tires crack, they may lose air and fail, increasing the risk of a crash.

You will be notified, and the dealership will replace the tires free of charge, as long as they were installed as original equipment.

Original — What Happened
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Buick Enclave vehicles manufactured December 9, 2014, to January 14, 2015, 2015 Chevrolet Traverse vehicles manufactured December 9, 2014, to January 20, 2015, and 2015 GMC Acadia vehicles manufactured December 9, 2014, to January 16, 2015, and all equipped with Goodyear P255/65R18 Fortera HL tires. These vehicles are equipped with tires that may experience tread cracking. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims and Motor Home/Recreation Vehicle Trailer Load Carrying Capacity Information for Motor Vehicles with a GVWR of 4,536 kilograms (10,000 pounds) or Less."

If the tire treads crack, a loss of tire pressure and possible tire failure may result, increasing the risk of a crash.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires that were manufactured within a specific date range, free of charge. The rec all began on March 9, 2015.
