What Happened
The start-stop accumulator is a part in your transmission that helps your vehicle stop and start smoothly. In some affected models, it's possible that some bolts are missing from this part.
Risk if Unfixed
If the start-stop accumulator is missing bolts, it could leak transmission fluid. This could lead to a loss of power, making it harder to control your vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash. In rare cases, a leak near an ignition source could also cause a fire.
Free Fix
Your dealer will inspect the start-stop accumulator and replace it if any bolts are missing, completely free of charge. They'll take care of this repair as soon as you schedule it with them.
