What Happened
The cable that keeps your front door closed might not be properly connected. This can cause the door latch to stick or lock up completely.
Risk if Unfixed
If your front door is unlatched while driving, a passenger could fall out or be ejected in a crash, putting them at risk of serious injury.
Free Fix
Your Chrysler dealer will add a safety feature to both front doors to prevent this issue – it's free, and you should schedule the repair as soon as possible.

Original — What Happened
ON CERTAIN VEHICLES, THE FRONT DOOR LATCH CABLE MAY BECOME PARTIALLY UNSEATED FROM THE INTERIOR RELEASE HANDLE HOUSING POSSIBLY CAUSING THE LATCH TO STICK IN THE UNLATCHED POSITION OR THE LOCK FUNCTION TO BECOME INOPERATIVE.

DRIVING A VEHICLE WITH AN UNLATCHED DOOR CAN RESULT IN AN UNBELTED FRONT SEAT OCCUPANT FALLING OUT OF THE VEHICLE OR BEING EJECTED IN A CRASH, CAUSING INCREASED RISK OF INJURY.
Original — Remedy
DEALERS WILL ADD A SECONDARY RETENTION FEATURE TO BOTH FRONT DOORS. THIS ACTION WILL SUPERSEDE AND EXPAND A PREVIOUS SAFETY RECALL (PLEASE SEE 07V-104). THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 29, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.

What Happened
The mechanism that keeps your front doors closed is called the door latch. In some cases, the cable that helps it work might come loose, causing the door to stick open and not lock properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in a crash and the door doesn't lock, an unbuckled passenger could be thrown out of the vehicle, increasing the risk of serious injury.
Free Fix
Your dealer will add a safety feature to both front doors to prevent the latch cable from coming loose, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible.
