What Happened
Your vehicle's fuel gauge may show you have more fuel than you actually do, which can cause you to run out of gas unexpectedly.
Risk if Unfixed
This could cause an accident without warning if you run out of gas, especially on the highway or at high speeds.
Free Fix
The dealership will replace the fuel pump module free of charge, starting in March 2009, and you can contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403 to schedule an appointment.

Original — What Happened
CHRYSLER IS RECALLING 91 MY 2009 SEBRING AND DODGE AVENGER EQUIPPED WITH 2.4L ENGINE PASSENGER VEHICLES. A COMPATIBILITY ISSUE BETWEEN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SOFTWARE AND FUEL PUMP MODULE CAN RESULT IN THE FUEL GAUGE OVERSTATING THE ACTUAL FUEL TANK LEVEL. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE MAY RUN OUT OF FUEL WHEN THE GAUGE INDICATES THAT THERE IS STILL FUEL REMAINING IN THE TANK.

What Happened
Your vehicle's computer (Power Train Control Module, or PCM) might have a faulty printed circuit board due to a bad adhesive used in its manufacturing process.
Risk if Unfixed
If this isn't fixed, your engine could stall without warning, which could lead to a crash.

You'll get a free replacement of the Power Train Control Module at the dealership, and this recall started on November 10, 2008, so you should contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403 to schedule the repair.
