Component
SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:VACUUM
Manufacturer
General Motors, LLC
What Happened
The power brake assist system in your Buick Regal helps you slow down or stop the vehicle by amplifying the force of your brake pedal. This system relies on a computer and vacuum power to work correctly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the computer system fails, you'll lose power brake assist, which means you'll have to press the brake pedal much harder to stop the vehicle. This could take longer to stop, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Buick dealer will update the computer software that controls the power brake assist system, and this repair is completely free. You should schedule the update as soon as you get the recall notice to ensure your safety on the road.
