ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) Safety Recalls

Under Review #24V104000 Plain English
Component

ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The Integrated Brake (IB) system in your vehicle is a critical safety feature that helps your car stop smoothly and stay stable. It's made up of several components that work together to assist your brakes and prevent skidding.
Risk if Unfixed
If the IB system fails, you could lose power brake assist, which means you'll have to press the brake pedal harder to stop. This could also cause your vehicle's antilock braking and stability control systems to stop working properly, making it harder to control your car and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty IB system for free, ensuring your vehicle's brakes and safety features work as intended. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice, and it's done at no cost to you.

Original — What Happened
BMW of North America, LLC. (BMW) is recalling certain 2023-2025 BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce vehicles. Please see the recall report for a complete list of models and model years. The integrated brake (IB) system may malfunction and result in a loss of power brake assist or cause the Antilock Brake (ABS) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) systems to not function properly.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
A loss of power brake assist can extend the distance required to stop the vehicle. Additionally, malfunctioning ABS and/or DSC systems can cause a loss of vehicle control. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will replace the integrated brake system, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed between June and December 2024. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 or Rolls Royce customer service at 1-877-877-3735.
