What Happened
The fuel pump flange in your motorcycle is the part that connects the fuel pump to the fuel tank. Over time, it could crack and start leaking fuel.
Risk if Unfixed
If the fuel pump flange cracks and leaks, and you're near an ignition source like a spark or open flame, your motorcycle could catch fire.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will inspect and reinforce or replace the fuel pump flange at no cost to you. They'll make the necessary repair to prevent fuel leaks and keep you safe on the road.

Original — What Happened
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain model year 2005-2011 model year R-model motorcycles, model year 2005-2012 K-model motorcycles, model year 2010-2011 S 1000 model motorcycles, and model year 2006-2010 HP2 motorcycles. In the affected motorcycles, the fuel pump flange (and the auxiliary fuel pump flange if equipped) could develop cracks and leak fuel.
