What Happened
The fuel pump flange in your motorcycle is a critical connection that holds the fuel pump in place. Over time, it can crack and start leaking fuel, which could cause a fire.
Risk if Unfixed
If fuel leaks out and there's an ignition source nearby, your motorcycle could catch fire. This is a serious risk that could cause injury or damage.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will inspect and repair the fuel pump flange as needed, either by reinforcing it or replacing the pump. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as possible.

Original — What Happened
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain model year 2005-2011 model year R-model motorcycles, model year 2005-2012 K-model motorcycles, model year 2010-2011 S 1000 model motorcycles, and model year 2006-2010 HP2 motorcycles. In the affected motorcycles, the fuel pump flange (and the auxiliary fuel pump flange if equipped) could develop cracks and leak fuel.
