What Happened
The seal in your bike's reverse gear control unit is a crucial part that keeps water out. In your 2017-2025 K 1600 GT, GTL, B or 2018-2025 Grand America, this seal can break down and let water inside, causing the control unit to overheat.
Risk if Unfixed
If the control unit overheats, it could catch fire. This is a serious risk that could cause an accident or damage to your bike.
Free Fix
Your authorized BMW dealer will replace the faulty reverse gear control unit with a new one, free of charge. You'll receive a letter from BMW with instructions on how to schedule the repair when it's available.
