What Happened
The fuel pump flange in your motorcycle is a critical connection that keeps fuel inside the tank. Over time, it could crack and leak fuel from your motorcycle.
Risk if Unfixed
If the fuel pump flange cracks and leaks, it could spill fuel onto a hot engine or exhaust component, causing a fire that could spread quickly and put you at risk of serious injury.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will inspect and either reinforce or replace the fuel pump flange, at no cost to you. They'll make sure your motorcycle is safe to ride again, and you should schedule the repair as soon as possible.

Original — What Happened
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain model year 2005-2011 model year R-model motorcycles, model year 2005-2012 K-model motorcycles, model year 2010-2011 S 1000 model motorcycles, and model year 2006-2010 HP2 motorcycles. In the affected motorcycles, the fuel pump flange (and the auxiliary fuel pump flange if equipped) could develop cracks and leak fuel.
