What Happened
The drive chain in your motorcycle is like a flexible belt that connects your rear wheel to the engine. In some 2008 and 2009 F650 GS and F 800 GS motorcycles, this chain might not have been made to the correct standards.
Risk if Unfixed
If the chain breaks, it could get stuck between the rear wheel and the frame, causing the rear wheel to lock up and potentially leading to a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealership will replace the faulty drive chain and sprockets at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible and contact BMW at 1-800-525-7417 for more information.
