Component

LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
Your vehicle's door latch is a mechanism that keeps your doors closed. In certain 2005-2008 BMW 7-Series models, this latch can malfunction, causing your doors to appear closed but actually be open.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, your doors could suddenly swing open while you're driving or during a crash, putting you or your passengers at risk of being thrown from the vehicle or getting hurt.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will update the door latch system to make sure your doors stay securely closed. This repair is free of charge, and you'll be notified when it's time to schedule the update.
