What Happened
The air bag control unit in your 530i or 540i xDrive is the brain of the safety system that deploys your air bags in case of a crash. In some 2025 models, it might have been made incorrectly, which means it won't work as it should.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in a crash and your air bags don't deploy as intended, you're at a higher risk of getting hurt. This is a serious safety issue that needs attention right away.
Free Fix
Your local BMW dealer will replace the faulty air bag control unit with a new one, completely free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible.

BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2025 530i and 540i xDrive vehicles. The air bag control unit may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can result in the air bags not deploying as intended.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:STARTER ASSEMBLY

What Happened
The starter assembly in your car is what gets your engine started. In some 2025 BMW models, the connection between the starter and the battery could come loose, causing a problem.
Risk if Unfixed
If this connection comes loose, your engine could stall while you're driving, making it harder to control your vehicle. In rare cases, the wiring might overheat and cause a fire.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will check the starter-generator and battery connection, and replace them if necessary, all at no cost to you. This repair is free, and you should schedule it when you get the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2025 330i, 330i xDrive, 530i, 530i xDrive, 4 Series Coupe (430i, 430i xDrive), 4 Series Convertible (430i, 430i xDrive), 4 Series Gran Coupe (430i, 430i xDrive) and X3 30 xDrive vehicles. The electrical connection between the starter-generator and battery may come loose.

A loose starter-generator connection can result in an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash. In addition, the wiring may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

Dealers will inspect and replace the starter-generator and positive battery cable as necessary, free of charge. Interim owner letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed May 28, 2025. What Happened
The integrated brake system in your vehicle is a critical safety feature that helps you stop smoothly and stay in control. It's made up of several components, including the brake assist system and the systems that prevent your wheels from locking up when you slam on the brakes.
Risk if Unfixed
If the integrated brake system fails, you could lose power brake assist, which means you'll need to press the brake pedal harder to slow down. Without proper function of the ABS and DSC systems, you could also lose control of your vehicle, making it harder to stop or steer. This could increase your chances of being involved in a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the integrated brake system with a new one, at no cost to you. When you receive the recall notice, schedule the repair as soon as possible to ensure your safety on the road.

BMW of North America, LLC. (BMW) is recalling certain 2023-2025 BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce vehicles. Please see the recall report for a complete list of models and model years. The integrated brake (IB) system may malfunction and result in a loss of power brake assist or cause the Antilock Brake (ABS) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) systems to not function properly.

A loss of power brake assist can extend the distance required to stop the vehicle. Additionally, malfunctioning ABS and/or DSC systems can cause a loss of vehicle control. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.
