Component
ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The integrated brake system in your vehicle is a critical safety feature that helps you stop smoothly and stay in control. It's made up of several components, including the brake assist system and the systems that prevent your wheels from locking up when you slam on the brakes.
Risk if Unfixed
If the integrated brake system fails, you could lose power brake assist, which means you'll need to press the brake pedal harder to slow down. Without proper function of the ABS and DSC systems, you could also lose control of your vehicle, making it harder to stop or steer. This could increase your chances of being involved in a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the integrated brake system with a new one, at no cost to you. When you receive the recall notice, schedule the repair as soon as possible to ensure your safety on the road.
