Risk if Unfixed
If the starter assembly overheats, it could catch fire, which could cause serious injury, either to you or someone nearby.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty starter assembly with a new one, at no cost to you. You'll get a second letter once the repair is ready, and you can also contact BMW or Toyota customer service for more information.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:ADAS:DRIVER MONITORING:CAMERA/SENSOR

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
Your vehicle's driver monitoring camera system helps the safety features know when you're paying attention to the road. In some 2023-2024 models, the electrical connection to this system might not be properly attached.
Risk if Unfixed
If this connection is loose, the system won't work as it should. This means the emergency stopping assistant might not kick in if you're not holding the steering wheel, which could increase your risk of being in a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will check and secure the electrical connection to the driver monitoring system, free of charge. You should schedule this repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
