TIRES:SIDEWALL
Manufacturer
BAYERISCHE MOTOREN WERKE
What Happened
The sidewall of your tire is the part that meets the road. In some 2001 BMW vehicles, the sidewall was damaged during the tire mounting process, creating a sharp edge that could cut into the tire's surface.
Risk if Unfixed
If you drive with low tire pressure for a long time, the tire could be damaged, making your vehicle harder to control. This could lead to a crash, especially if you're driving at high speeds.
Free Fix
Your authorized BMW dealer will inspect all five tires for any damage, and replace any tires with cuts free of charge. You should schedule the inspection as soon as possible and request the free repair if your tire is affected.
