What Happened
The sidewall of your tire is the part that keeps the air inside. In certain 2020-2021 models with Continental tires, a sharp edge during the mounting process might have cut the sidewall, which could slowly let air out.
Risk if Unfixed
If the tire loses too much air, it could affect how your vehicle handles and responds to steering. In extreme cases, this could lead to a crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized BMW dealer will inspect all five tires for damage. If they find a cut in the sidewall, they'll replace the tire for free. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice, and if there's a delay, call BMW at 1-800-831-1117.
