AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The side and window air bags in your vehicle are designed to inflate in the event of a crash to protect you and your passengers. In some 2014-2015 BMW models, the weld joint in the air bag inflator could fail, causing a leak or rupture.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag inflator ruptures, it could shoot metal fragments into the vehicle, putting you and your passengers at risk of serious injury. If it leaks gas, the air bag might not inflate properly during a crash, which could also lead to injury.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty head air bags with new ones, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible after receiving the recall notice you received on November 4, 2024.
