Component
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The wiring in your vehicle is responsible for controlling the heating and air conditioning system, like a network of roads that let the signals flow. In certain models, these roads can get too hot and start to melt, causing problems.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wiring overheats, it could cause a fire, even when your car is parked and unattended. This is a serious risk, and we want to address it right away.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty wiring and electrical connectors with new ones, at no cost to you. You'll get a second notice when the repair is ready, but you can also contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 to check on the status.
