Component
FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY
Manufacturer
VOLKSWAGEN OF AMERICA, INC
What Happened
The fuel tank in your Audi is like a big container that holds the gasoline. In some 2006-2010 models, the valve that helps prevent fuel from escaping under extreme conditions might not close tightly enough, allowing fuel to leak out.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, there's a chance a spark could ignite the fuel, causing a fire. This could put you and others at risk of serious injury or damage.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will replace the faulty valve with a new one that's designed to prevent leaks, and this repair is completely free. You'll be notified when the fix is ready, and you should schedule it as soon as possible.
