Component

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The gateway control module in your Audi is a computer that helps control various systems in your vehicle. It's located in the trunk, and in some 2019-2022 models, liquid spilled in the rear seat can seep in and cause it to fail.
Risk if Unfixed
If the gateway control module shuts down while you're driving, your engine power will suddenly drop, making it harder to accelerate and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will install a protective cover to shield the gateway control module from spills, and this repair is completely free. You should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:INSTRUMENT PANEL:FUEL GAUGE:FUEL LEVEL FLOAT/SENSOR/SENDING UNIT

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The fuel level sensor in your vehicle is like a little eye that tells your dashboard how much gas you have left. In some 2021-2022 Audi models, this sensor can get stuck, giving you a wrong reading.
Risk if Unfixed
If the sensor is stuck, your dashboard might show you have more or less gas than you really do. This could cause your engine to stall when you run out of fuel, making it harder to control your vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will swap out the faulty sensor with a new one that gives accurate readings, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice in the mail.
