What Happened
Your vehicle's brake system has a potential issue with the rotor and shaft, which may cause a loss of braking assistance and increase the risk of a crash.
Risk if Unfixed
If the rotor and shaft separate, you may experience reduced braking power, loss of the ABS and ESC systems, and an increased risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Audi will replace the brake booster in your vehicle at no cost to you, and you will be notified by mail with a letter dated September 14, 2021. You can also contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834 or reference Volkswagen recall number 47R1.

Original — What Happened
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2021 E-Tron Quattro and 2020-2021 Audi E-Tron Sportback Quattro vehicles. An improperly welded rotor and shaft may separate within the integrated brake system.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
Separation of the rotor and shaft may cause a reduction in braking assistance and a loss of the Antilock Brake System (ABS) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC), increasing the risk of a crash.

What Happened
Your Audi's high-voltage battery management software is responsible for keeping your E-Tron's battery from overheating. In some 2020-2022 E-Tron Sportback Quattro and 2019-2022 E-Tron Quattro models, this software may not work as intended, leading to overheating of the battery.
Risk if Unfixed
If the battery overheats, it could catch fire, which could cause serious damage to your vehicle and potentially harm you or others nearby.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will update the battery management software and replace any affected high-voltage battery modules with new ones, all at no cost to you. You'll need to schedule the repair once you receive the recall notice.

What Happened
The charging cable for your electric vehicle is like a long extension cord that sends power from your home outlet to your car. In certain models, this cable can overheat when using a strong 220V home outlet, which could damage the cable or the outlet.
Risk if Unfixed
If the cable or outlet overheats, it could catch fire, posing a significant risk to you and others nearby.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will replace the 220V charging cable with a new, safer version that includes a temperature sensor to prevent overheating. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as possible.

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2022-2024 RS e-tron GT, e-tron GT, Q4 e-tron Sportback, Q4 e-tron, 2020-2021 Audi A8, 2019-2024 e-tron Quattro, 2020-2024 e-tron Sportback Quattro, Q5, and 2021-2022 A7 vehicles. When using the industrial 220V/240V plug at the 100% charge setting, some home power outlets may be incapable of handling the electrical current required to utilize the compact charging system, causing the outlet or charging cable to overheat.

An overheated outlet or charging cable can increase the risk of a fire.

Owners are advised not to use the 220V/240V compact/portable charging cable and only use the 110V home charging cable or public charging stations. Dealers will supply a new 220V/240V compact/portable charging cable with an incorporated temperature sensor, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 28, 2024. BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA

What Happened
The rearview camera system in your Audi uses a camera to show you what's behind your vehicle. In some 2019-2026 models, a software glitch might prevent the camera image from showing up on your screen.
Risk if Unfixed
If the rearview camera image doesn't display, you'll have a reduced view of what's behind your vehicle, making it harder to see potential hazards or children, pets, or other people. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will update the software for your rearview camera system, free of charge. You should schedule this update as soon as you get the recall notice.

A software error may prevent the rearview camera image from displaying as intended.
