AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION

Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The occupant classification sensor in your vehicle is a mat that sits under the seat to detect if someone is sitting there. In your Audi, this mat can wear out over time due to stress and normal use.
Risk if Unfixed
If the mat wears out, your front passenger airbag might not deploy correctly in a crash. This could leave the person sitting in the passenger seat more vulnerable to injury.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will install a special repair kit to make sure the airbag system works properly, and this repair is completely free. You'll be notified when it's time to bring your vehicle in, and you should schedule the appointment as soon as possible.
