What Happened
The camera control unit in your Tiguan is the brain that helps your rearview camera show you what's behind your vehicle. In some 2024 models, this system can malfunction when you start your car, causing the camera image to not show up.
Risk if Unfixed
If the rearview camera doesn't display an image, you could have a harder time seeing what's behind your vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash, especially when reversing.
Free Fix
Your Volkswagen dealer will update the camera control unit software to fix the issue, and this repair is completely free. You should schedule the update as soon as you get the recall notice.
