What Happened
Your motorcycle's electrical system has a connection between the DC/DC converter and the 12V battery. Water can get into this connection and cause corrosion on the wires.
Risk if Unfixed
If the corrosion gets bad enough, it could cause a fire due to overheating. This is a serious risk that you should take care of right away.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty wiring with a new repair cable kit, and check for corrosion on the 12V plug connector. If corrosion is found, they'll also replace additional wiring sections — both repairs will be done at no cost to you.
