WHEELS:RIM

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The front wheel rim on your scooter is the metal part that the tire sits on. In some 2017 BMW C650 GT and C Evolution models, the rim might not have the correct label showing its size and other important safety info.
Risk if Unfixed
If you put a tire on the wrong rim, your scooter could handle poorly and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the rim with a correctly labeled one at no cost to you, and they'll let you know when this repair is available. You'll get a second notice with the details.

Original — What Happened
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2017 BMW C650 GT and BMW C Evolution scooters for failing to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 120, "Wheels and rims-other than passenger cars." The front rims may not be marked with the required rim type and the DOT designation.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
Since the rim is not marked with the rim size and the DOT designation, a tire of the incorrect size may be installed on this rim, affecting the handling of the scoter and increasing the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
BMW will notify owners, and dealers will replace any rims that are not correctly marked, free of charge. Interim notices informing owners of the safety risk were mailed September 26, 2017. Owners will receive a second notice when the remedy becomes available. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING:CONNECTORS/PLUGS/RECEPTACLES

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The electrical plug on your C Evolution motorcycle is where the battery and other systems connect. Water can seep in and cause corrosion on the electrical contacts, which are like the fingers that touch the wires.
Risk if Unfixed
If the electrical contacts corrode, the wires could overheat, causing a fire, which could damage your motorcycle or lead to an accident.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty electrical cable and check the wiring for corrosion. If they find any, they'll replace the affected sections for free. This repair is also free, so you don't have to pay a thing.
