What Happened
The high-voltage battery in your BMW is a critical part that powers your electric motor. In some 2022-2025 IX, 2023-2024 I7, and 2022-2023 i4 models, the battery cells weren't assembled correctly, which could weaken the module.
Risk if Unfixed
If the battery module fails, your car could lose power while driving, making it hard to steer and brake. This increases the risk of a crash. In the worst case, the module failure could also cause a fire.
How to Get This Fixed
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty high-voltage battery cell modules with new ones, at no cost to you. You'll get a notice when the repair is ready, expected by December 31, 2025.
