What Happened
The Occupant Detection System (ODS) in your Outback or Legacy uses sensors to determine if the front passenger seat is occupied. One of the capacitors in these sensors could crack and cause the system to malfunction.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, the front passenger airbag might not deploy in a crash, which could lead to serious injury.
