What Happened
The second-row seats in your CX-9 have a part that makes the left side of the seat slide forward. It's meant to help protect you in a crash, but in certain 2020-2021 models, it can move unexpectedly.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in the left seat and the seat slides forward during a crash, you could get hurt worse because the force of the impact will be transferred to your body. This increases your risk of injury.
Free Fix
Your Mazda dealer will replace the faulty parts inside the second-row seats at no cost to you. Just schedule the repair when you get the recall notice, and it's done for free.
