What Happened
The sidewalls of the tires on your Atlas are the part that keep the air in and the road out. In some 2018-2019 models, the sidewalls may have been over-cured during production.
Risk if Unfixed
If the sidewall breaks, your tire could suddenly lose air or the belt could separate, causing your vehicle to lose control. This could make it harder to steer and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Volkswagen dealer will inspect the tires and replace them if needed – for free. You should schedule the inspection as soon as you get the recall notice.
