What Happened
The front passenger air bag in your vehicle is designed to deploy in a crash to protect you and your passenger. However, in certain 2009-2013 models, the inflator that makes the air bag work could rupture and shoot out sharp metal fragments.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, those fragments could hit you or your passenger, causing serious injury or even death. This is a life-threatening situation that requires immediate attention.
Free Fix
Your dealer will swap out the faulty air bag inflator with a safer, redesigned one – at no cost to you. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
