EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCH
What Happened
The brake light switch in your Pathfinder is a small switch that helps control your brake lights. In some 2013-2015 models, this switch can get stuck, causing your brake lights to stay on even when you're not pressing the brake pedal.
Risk if Unfixed
If your brake lights are on all the time, other drivers might think you're slowing down when you're not. This could lead to a crash. Additionally, if the switch malfunctions, you might not be able to shift your car out of park without pressing the brake pedal, and you could accidentally roll away.
Free Fix
Nissan will fix your Pathfinder for free. They'll either re-install the brake light switch or swap it with a different switch, and replace the brake light relay. Just schedule an appointment with your Nissan dealer when you get the recall notice.
