There's a problem with the rust prevention coating on the parking brake shafts in your 2016 Outlander or Outlander Sport. This coating might have been damaged during assembly, allowing water to get in and cause the shafts to corrode.

If the parking brake shafts corrode, they could bind, making it hard for the parking brake to work properly. This means your car could roll away, which increases the risk of a crash.
