LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:HATCHBACK/LIFTGATE:LOCK

What Happened
The latch on your Focus hatchback's liftgate is the mechanism that keeps your cargo secure. In some 2013-2017 models, it's possible to open the hatch with just one press of the release button, instead of the usual two.
Risk if Unfixed
If the latch doesn't work properly, you could accidentally open the hatch while driving, which could lead to passengers in the back being thrown around inside the car. This could cause injuries, especially for those who aren't buckled up.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will update the computer system that controls the hatch to make sure it opens properly with the correct number of presses. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
