EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCH

What Happened
The brake light switch in your 2013 Elantra is a small part that helps turn on your brake lights when you press the pedal and turns them off when you release it. In some cases, this switch can get stuck, causing the lights to stay on even when you're not pressing the brake.
Risk if Unfixed
If the brake light switch stays stuck on, it means other drivers behind you won't get the signal that you're slowing down or stopping. This could lead to a collision. Additionally, if the switch gets stuck, you might be able to shift out of park without pressing the brake pedal, which is a serious safety risk.
Free Fix
Your Hyundai dealer will replace the brake pedal stopper pad with a new one, free of charge. This fix is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
