What Happened
Your Ram's transfer case is the gear box that sends power to all four wheels. In some 2016 models, the main shaft that connects to the wheels might be misshapen, causing it to crack and fail.
Risk if Unfixed
If the main shaft breaks, your truck could lose power and stall, making it harder to control. You might also be unable to shift into PARK, which could cause the vehicle to roll away, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the transfer case with a new one, at no cost to you. The repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
