What Happened
The brake light switch in your Pathfinder is a critical part that helps your brakes work properly. In some 2013-2014 models, it was installed incorrectly, causing the brake lights to stay on even when you're not pressing the brake pedal.
Risk if Unfixed
If the brake override is triggered, you won't be able to accelerate normally, which could lead to a crash. Other drivers may also misjudge when you're stopping, which could cause a collision. If you shift out of park without pressing the brake, your vehicle could roll away, putting you or others at risk of injury.
