What Happened
The airbag in your passenger seat is a safety cushion that inflates in a crash to protect you. Unfortunately, in some 2014-2016 MINI Cooper and BMW i3 vehicles, this airbag might not deploy correctly in a low-speed accident.
Risk if Unfixed
If you're in a low-speed crash and the airbag doesn't work as it should, you're at risk of getting hurt. This could happen even at speeds as low as 5-10 mph.
Free Fix
Your MINI or BMW dealer will replace the faulty airbag module with a new one, at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
