What Happened
The ignition switch in your vehicle is the part that turns the engine on and off. In some 2000-2008 Pontiac and Chevrolet models, the weight on the key ring could cause the ignition switch to move out of the 'run' position.
Risk if Unfixed
If the key is not in the 'run' position, the airbags might not deploy in a crash, which could put you at risk of serious injury.
Free Fix
Your dealer will install a new key ring and a protective cover on your key, free of charge. This will help prevent the ignition switch from turning off the engine unexpectedly.
