What Happened
The transmission range sensor in your Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is a small part that helps your car know when you've shifted the transmission into Park. In some 2013-2014 models, it might not work as it should.
Risk if Unfixed
If this sensor fails, you could accidentally shift your car out of Park without pressing the brake, and it could roll, increasing the risk of a crash.
