What Happened
The electric auxiliary water pump in your vehicle is a small, high-tech part that helps cool your engine. It's located in the engine compartment and is controlled by an electronic circuit board.
Risk if Unfixed
If the circuit board overheats, the water pump could start smoldering and cause a fire in the engine compartment, or even a vehicle fire. This is a serious risk that could happen while you're driving.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty auxiliary water pump with a new one, completely free of charge. You'll be notified when the repair is ready, and you should schedule it as soon as possible.
